Accelerator

2.8(4 avis)

Accelerator is a family boomerang coaster manufacturered by Vekoma. When the ride opened in 2011, it went under the name 'Ben 10 - Ultimate Mission' which coincided with its theme at the time. It also opened as the world's first Vekoma family boomerang. The ride has a strong racecar theme with lots of nods to the aesthetics of a racecar garage. Some of the Ben 10 theming remains to this day however without the Ben 10 branding. The ride currently belongs to the 'Frontier Falls area of the park, and some adjustments have been made on the outside of the attraction. The changes include a change from metallic to wooden in features like fencing, brown paint on some walls and a change to the facade and signage in some places. It appears this theme change is still ongoing so more can be expected soon. The ride experience starts with the backwards lift which holds you at the top before plummeting down. The ride then goes through its figure eight layout and crest a spike, before then going through the whole layout again backwards.

The ride features switch tracks, backwards launches and much more which leaves you wondering where you're heading next. The ride has a very prominent old western theme. Some of the ride's queue is stylised to an old mineshaft and the ride vehicles resemble old minecarts. The ride area is decked out with wild west landscaping and props, with a rocking western soundtrack to go with nicely. The first cycle, or cycle 1 as it is more commonly referred to, is the cycle you will often find the ride running. This cycle sends you up the lift hill and into the layout through there. The second cycle (cycle 2) is ran less frequently. This cycle ascends the lift hill but stops at the top and drops you down backwards into the layout through a switch track at the bottom.

Jormungandr

2.8(4 avis)

Jormungandr is a powered coaster manufacturered by Zamperla. It opened in the park back in 1987 as the 'Buffalo Mountain Coaster' and had a buffalo train design. The ride was renamed to 'Jormungandr' and the ride's train was changed dramatically to resemble a wooden serpentine design with a head at the front and a tail at the back of the train. The ride is themed to the giant sea monster of norse mythology that shares the same name. Otherwise known as the 'World Serpent', in mythology, Jormungandr wraps itself around the world causing storms and tidal waves with its unfathomable size. The ride experience is gentle compared to the other roller coasters in the park. The ride makes its way around the Vikings area and across the lake at a steady pace and doesn't offer much in terms of height and speed, making this a perfect ride for all.
