Description

The Wave is a sit down coaster originally manufacturered by Intamin. This roller coaster was previously known as 'Shockwave' when it opened in 1994 all the way up until 2023. As Shockwave, the ride featured standup trains made by Intamin which was later changed along with a bigger refurbishment of the ride. For the 2024 season, Shockwave was converted into The Wave, with the biggest change being the change from standup to sit down trains. The new sit down trains were built by ART Engineering. The ride features a loose surfing theme with lots of surfing imagery and aesthetics around the area. The ride also possesses a radio-like soundtrack with rock and roll music playing in the station, queue and surrounding paths. The ride experience starts with a drop into a large vertical loop. Then the ride enters a zero-g roll, the only zero-g roll to feature on a ride of its model. Then it maneuvers into two consecutive corkscrews before it enters the breaks. The ride is quite tall compared to the other rides in the park and contains lots of whippy and high g force moments.
